The most significant project of the current term in Vallmoll, the renovation of the old school for citizen services, is progressing as planned. The works will soon be put out to tender, with the aim of having the project in an advanced execution phase by the end of the year.
This initiative is supported by the Provincial Council of Tarragona, through the ImpulsDipta program, and is being carried out jointly by the Vallmoll City Council and the Department of Social Action of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The total budget for the project amounts to 551,536 euros (VAT included), of which 399,128 euros come from the provincial subsidy and the remaining 152,408 euros are municipal funds.
The space will be divided into two main areas. One part will be dedicated to the Rural Area Integral Care Service (SAIAR), a service designed to provide care for the elderly within the municipality, avoiding the need for them to travel. The other area will house citizen service facilities, such as the Justice of the Peace and social service offices.
The SAIAR aims to be a personalized care service for families with elderly or dependent individuals, offering support during the working hours of caregivers. Professionals will attend to the users' needs for the necessary time, allowing family members to pick them up at the end of the day. It will function as a Day Center adapted to the rural environment, focusing on the well-being of users and the maintenance of their family ties and surroundings.
