The Forest Defense Group (ADF) of Querol has bolstered its forest fire prevention efforts in the municipality thanks to a grant of 8,928.59 euros from the Tarragona Provincial Council.

The financial contribution has allowed the ADF to purchase new portable walkie-talkies to improve emergency communications and acquire fire-retardant protective gear and helmets for volunteers, thereby enhancing their safety.
In terms of forest management, a safety strip has been cleared along the Esblada to Formigosa path to improve environmental management and reduce fire risk. Path maintenance has also been carried out through silvopasture using a herd of goats and electric fencing to control vegetation.
These initiatives strengthen the response capacity of Querol's ADF, a crucial task for protecting the municipality's extensive forest area and ensuring the safety of its residents.
