The Chamber of Commerce of Tortosa hosted the presentation of the Economic Situation Report for Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l’Ebre, which highlights the region's significant natural capital and the need to transform it into economic prosperity through sustainable development.

The study, developed with the participation of the Chambers of Commerce of Tortosa, Valls, Reus, and Tarragona, with the support of the Provincial Council of Tarragona and the URV Foundation, calculates the monetary value of land and natural heritage to promote favorable economic growth. The Tarragona demarcation maintains a positive trend with a GDP growth of 3.1% in 2025, exceeding the Catalan average, led by industry in Camp de Tarragona and services in Terres de l’Ebre.
Terres de l’Ebre possesses natural capital valued at 2,335 million euros, while Camp de Tarragona reaches 1,399 million. The report also points out territorial challenges such as an unemployment rate higher than the Catalan average and labor seasonality, which could be addressed through investment, innovation, and stable job creation.
The event included presentations of reference business cases such as Infosa, involved in marine salt production, and Musclarium, focused on gastronomy and sustainable tourism in the Bay of Alfacs, as examples of businesses linked to the territory's natural capital.
