The conference "From Listening to Action: Advancing the Challenges of Dual FP in Valls", organized by the Valls Chamber of Commerce and the Bertelsmann Foundation, served to present the results of the report "Challenges and Proposals for Dual FP in Valls". The event highlighted how to strengthen collaboration between centers and companies.
The report, prepared by the Bertelsmann Foundation in collaboration with the Chamber and the Institut Jaume Huguet, is based on questionnaires for teachers, companies, and students of industrial cycles, as well as participatory sessions. The conclusions suggest improvements in student selection processes, greater presence of FP in ESO and Baccalaureate, more versatile industrial profiles, clear leadership management teams, and more stable teaching staff.
It also proposes greater autonomy for centers, with regular company visits and the creation of stable networks of collaborating companies. Student participation highlighted the lack of prior information and transportation difficulties, underscoring the need for stable collaboration among all stakeholders.
During a round table, moderated by the Chamber's secretary, Carles Solé, the potential of the Institut Jaume Huguet as an integrated center of excellence for vocational training was analyzed. The speakers agreed in highlighting that an integrated center acts as a strategic partner for companies, responding to their needs with tailored training, thus benefiting students, workers, and SMEs, and retaining talent in the territory.
The director of the Institut Jaume Huguet, Josep M. Soler, closed the conference, which was supported by FP Pyme and ANESPRO, and co-financed by the European Union, the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, SEPE, and the Cámara de Comercio de España.
