The Diputació de Girona has granted the Avinyonet de Puigventós Town Council a new subsidy of €10,000 for the maintenance of perimeter strips for fire prevention. This aid is part of the regulatory bases approved by the Plenary of the Diputació de Girona on November 19, 2024, and published in the BOP no. 227.
The town council applied for aid under line 3, specifically for the maintenance of these prevention strips. Work carried out in recent months aims to enhance safety and reduce the risk associated with forest fires in the municipality.
This action will help reduce the risk of forest fires spreading towards built-up areas and, conversely, urban fires spreading towards forest areas. It will also facilitate access for firefighting teams and the machinery needed for the treatment and maintenance of vegetation around the perimeter of inhabited zones.
The measure contributes to improving fire prevention, protecting inhabited areas, and enhancing the overall safety of the municipality, especially during periods of highest risk.
