Woman dies in head-on collision on the N-II highway in Biure municipality

The accident, which took place yesterday afternoon, involved a car and a van, leaving two occupants with minor injuries.

A woman died yesterday afternoon, shortly before 5:30 PM, in a head-on collision between a car and a van at kilometer point 766 of the N-II, within the municipality of Biure.

The incident occurred between La Jonquera and Pont de Molins, near the BP gas stations. The alert regarding the crash was received by the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police).
Six patrols from the Mossos d'Esquadra, five units from the Bombers de la Generalitat (Firefighters), and three units from the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) were deployed to the scene to assist the victims.
The two occupants of the van involved sustained minor injuries and were subsequently transferred to the Trueta Hospital in Girona.
The road had to be partially closed while emergency response and investigation tasks were carried out. Authorities have opened an investigation to determine the exact causes of the collision.
