Unió Esportiva Figueres suffered another setback this Saturday afternoon, losing 3-1 against Caldes de Montbui, placing them firmly in the Primera Catalana relegation zone.

The 'annus horribilis' for Unió Esportiva Figueres in Primera Catalana continues, as the team now sits in relegation positions following their loss in the fifteenth round. Caldes de Montbui, who started the day in the bottom spots, leapfrogged the team from Alt Empordà in the standings.
The hosts took control early, scoring in the 10th minute. Figueres failed to challenge the home side in the first half, and Caldes doubled their lead just before halftime, making it 2-0.
Matters worsened for coach Jordi Grabulosa's side immediately after the break, when a turnover allowed Caldes to score the third goal with a low shot from outside the box. Despite a slight improvement later on, only Dani Mesas managed to pull one back after the 80th minute, resulting in a 3-1 final score.
Figueres now faces a critical double-fixture week. On Wednesday evening, they face a tough visit to Granollers, and on Sunday, they will play against Premià, currently second to last, in a crucial relegation battle.
