The mistral storm entered Catalonia with great intensity this Saturday, registering wind gusts of 136.4 km/h in Portbou, in the Alt Empordà region, according to the Catalan Meteorological Service.

Data collected at 9:00 a.m. by the automatic stations of the SMC and Meteoclimatic confirmed the wind's virulence in the northern tip of the Empordà, with the peak of 136.4 km/h recorded at the coll dels Belitres, in Portbou.
Although the impact was notable in Alt Empordà, gusts also approached 140 km/h in other parts of the Catalan territory, such as the Camp de Tarragona and the Terres de l'Ebre. Highlights include 137 km/h in La Riba, 134 km/h in La Sénia, and 132 km/h in L'Hospitalet de l'Infant.

Civil Protection asks to limit outdoor activities both near the sea and in the mountains.

Due to the adverse weather conditions, the AP-7 motorway had to be restricted for articulated vehicles in the section between Cambrils and L'Ampolla, to ensure road safety.
