The center of Figueres was packed last Saturday, April 25, to witness the traditional parade of the popular entourage, marking the beginning of the Santa Creu Fairs and Festivals.

The procession, led by the city's emblematic giants and big-headed figures, paraded through the main streets in a festive atmosphere, gathering numerous residents and visitors who did not want to miss the prelude to the festival's opening speech.
This year, traditional figures such as Berruga, Justa, and Janet were joined by members of the Colla Castellera de Figueres. This group is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary, which is why they were chosen to be the heralds for this edition of the fairs.
The event served to build anticipation for a program full of activities that will extend over the coming days, solidifying the Santa Creu Fairs and Festivals as one of the most anticipated cultural events in the Alt Empordà region.
