This edition of the fairs, which will take place throughout the day on May 1st, stands out for the expansion of artisan stalls in the Plaça de la Palmera, which will extend around its entire perimeter, as well as along Carrer Castelló and the area around the Sant Jordi sculpture in Plaça Catalunya.
The event, considered one of the most popular in Figueres' festive calendar, will bring together various sectoral fairs in central areas of the city. Among the most established are the 66th Drawing and Painting Fair in Plaça Catalunya, the 50th Collecting Fair, and the 14th Antiques Dealers Fair on La Rambla. Also present will be the 44th Craft Fair, the 44th Market Fair, and the 41st Food Fair.
The program will be complemented by more recent proposals such as the 5th Small Publishers, Great Books Fair and the 3rd Digital Art and New Trends Fair. In addition to the commercial offerings, various complementary activities have been organized, including children's workshops, demonstrations of traditional crafts, and the participation of Urban Sketchers, who will capture the different fair scenarios live.
“"The entity is the backbone of the Santa Creu street events, with the desire to be very present in the life of the city."
The program will also include a commemorative postmark for the 170th anniversary of the Casino Menestral Figuerenc, a concert by the Micro Obert project of the Casino's Music School, a parade by the percussion group Tramuntakada, and a musical "Tardeo" session with Carles Pujol and Josep Serra, from Radio Cassette Night, at the Font Lluminosa. With this event, the Casino Menestral champions a festive model that blends art, crafts, books, food, music, and associative life, keeping a deeply rooted tradition alive in the city.
