Historical data from the State Society of Lotteries and State Bets (SELAE) reveal which endings and number ranges have been luckiest throughout the history of the 2025 Christmas Lottery draw, scheduled for December 22.

Throughout the history of the draw, only two numbers have won the first prize, known as “El Gordo,” more than once: 15640, which came out in 1956 and 1978, and 20297, awarded in 1903 and 2006. Additionally, four “Gordos” have ended with three identical final digits, such as 25444 or 55666.

The luckiest ending in the Christmas Lottery is the number 5, which has been the final digit of 'El Gordo' on 32 occasions since 1812.

The number 5 is the most sought-after and most awarded ending, appearing 32 times. Other successful final digits include 6 (27 times) and 4 (26 times). Conversely, the number 1 is the least frequent ending, while 0 and 3 have appeared 23 times each.
According to official data from SELAE, there are two-digit endings that have never been associated with the first prize, including 09, 21, 34, or 78. Regarding the most repeated two-digit endings, 85 (seven times) and 57 (six times) stand out.
Concerning geographical distribution, Madrid is the city that has distributed “El Gordo” the most times, followed by Barcelona and Sevilla. This concentration is explained by the higher volume of ticket sales in these major capitals, increasing the statistical probability of distributing prizes there.
