The Alt Empordà club, Unió Esportiva Figueres, has announced the signing of Toni Sánchez as the new coach, the third of the season, replacing Jordi Grabulosa.

The manager from Sant Gregori, who comes from Europa, already led his first training session at Vilatenim this Tuesday evening. His official debut on the Primera Catalana bench will be this Saturday in the match against Banyoles.
This is not Sánchez's first spell in Figueres, as he managed the Juvenil A team competing in the National League during the 2012/2013 season. Furthermore, the new coach has gained experience with local teams such as Banyoles, Guíxols, Quart, and L'Escala.
Recently, Sánchez served as technical assistant at L'Escala during the 2022/2023 season, accompanying Aday Benítez. He subsequently followed Benítez to Europa, where he also held the position of assistant coach and celebrated the promotion to Primera RFEF last season.
Regarding the coaching staff, Pau Téllez, who was previously the coach of the Unió Esportiva Figueres women's first team, will now serve as Toni Sánchez's assistant. The remaining members of the technical team will remain unchanged.
