As they have warned on social media, some individuals are reportedly calling restaurateurs and other local businesses, impersonating council employees to collect a supposed garbage fee. The objective would be to charge a supposed garbage tax.
The City Council emphasizes that these calls are fraudulent and that they do not involve any municipal personnel authorized to carry out such actions.
“"If you receive a call of this type, do not provide personal data or make any payment"
The council urges citizens and businesses to be vigilant against these deception attempts and to report any suspected fraud.
