The Alt Empordà Agricultural Park Association has begun its journey to defend and enhance the region's farming space, marking the first project of its kind in Girona.

Based in Figueres, this private non-profit entity aims to protect agricultural land from urban pressure. The project is led by Antoni Falcón Vernis, former director of Barcelona Parks and Gardens, and involves local authorities.

"In the region, we specialize in services and logistics and do not value the best thing Empordà has, its landscape, which is unique."

The park will focus on sustainable tourism and training for young farmers. A key conference will take place on March 3rd in Garrigàs to discuss the park's implementation and environmental benefits.
