The Generalitat's Civil Protection department has activated the Ventcat alert for this Thursday, February 19, due to predicted wind gusts exceeding 70 km/h.

According to the Meteorological Service of Catalonia, westerly winds will mainly impact the Pyrenees, Alt Empordà, and the Lleida plains. The CECAT technical committee met this Wednesday to coordinate emergency measures across the affected territories.
The storm's intensity is expected to peak on Thursday morning, affecting the Barcelona metropolitan area, Tarragona, and Penedès. Authorities have set the maximum danger level at 4 out of 6 in several regions.
The risk is expected to subside by Friday morning, with remaining gusts limited to the northern areas, including Val d'Aran and Alt Empordà, before the weather stabilizes completely.
