The U25 team of Bàsquet Vilafant is on the verge of qualifying for the Catalonia Championship, with a decisive match this Thursday that could define their future in the Promotion Phase.

The Vilafant team, currently second in the Promotion Phase standings, will face the leader, Cellera, in a crucial match. To secure the first position in the group and obtain a ticket to the Catalonia Championship, Bàsquet Vilafant must win by a margin of four or more points, thus overcoming the negative average from the first round.
This direct confrontation, scheduled for a quarter to ten in the evening, is fundamental. If Vilafant achieves the victory with the necessary margin, they will only need to win the last match of the phase against Olot to confirm their leadership and qualification.
Another team from Alt Empordà, the U25 from Roses, is also having a good campaign in this Promotion Phase. Despite having the same number of victories as Vilafant (nine), an additional loss complicates their options, depending on an almost miraculous result to advance to the next round.
The Bàsquet Vilafant U25 already participated in this competition in 2025, where they achieved a meritorious third place. On that occasion, after falling in the semifinals, they defeated Altafulla in the bronze medal match, with a team core very similar to the current one.
