The incident occurred around 9:00 AM on Pla de Roses street. The victim, a teacher at the Institut Escola El Bruel, was struck by the vehicle while crossing the road. Authorities confirmed the driver's arrest after standard alcohol and drug testing protocols were conducted.

Four units from the Medical Emergency Service (SEM) responded to the scene. Despite resuscitation efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at approximately 9:30 AM. The event has caused deep distress within the local educational community in the Alt Empordà region.

Psychological support services have been established at the Puigmal Auditorium for students, staff, and relatives. An investigation is currently underway by the Local Police to clarify the circumstances of the accident.
