Castelló d'Empúries is hosting the second edition of Present, the international contemporary creation festival, this Saturday, May 9, with activities throughout the day in various locations within the historic center.

The initiative, co-organized by Col·lectiu El Paller and the City Council, aims to consolidate its position as a benchmark in contemporary art. Among this year's highlights is the artistic intervention Danso amb pedres per a fer-les florir, by Montse Canals and Maria Cruz.
Additionally, the book Practice Research Through Creative Bodies will be presented, and for the second consecutive year, a participatory workshop on exploration, narration, and co-creation will be held. This workshop, titled Life on the curve, links dance with emotional well-being and was a great success last year, attracting a significant part of Girona's dance community. The results of this workshop will be showcased on the same day in an intervention at the convent of Santa Clara.

"Our aim is to consolidate this festival, which we are building with great vision. We believe it must survive because contemporary art should serve to support us at this time."

The program also includes the participation of plastic artist Elena Casadevall, who will offer a painting and co-creation workshop in the Plaça dels Homes, inviting participants to "draw or paint their inner landscape." Students from the Ruiz Amado school will also collaborate with a theatrical creation at La Llotja, and there will be musical performances by Roger Ripoll, David Codina (from Els mals endreços), Els Senyors del Foc, and Dj. Bushakuka.
