From this Wednesday, September 16th, until October 5th, residents of the municipality can submit their ideas for improving the town. One of the key initial activities will be the Participatory Workshop on September 24th, at 7 PM, in the Chapel of Santa Clara Convent, where in-person contributions can be made and the first finalist projects selected.
The mayor and head of Citizen Participation, Anna Massot, highlighted that the Participatory Budget is a key tool for listening to citizens and incorporating their proposals into municipal policies. She emphasized the consolidation of the process, now in its ninth edition, as a reflection of an active citizenry committed to the municipality.
Proposals can be submitted by individuals of any age via the website www.tutriescastello.cat, through participation forms deposited in designated mailboxes, at information points in the weekly market (September 29th in Castelló and October 3rd in Empuriabrava), or at the aforementioned Participatory Workshop.
Proposals must be municipal investments, technically feasible, comply with legal frameworks, and not exceed €150,000 each, ensuring that the total budget of €250,000 allows for the execution of at least two projects.
Once the collection period concludes, municipal technical services will validate the proposals. Subsequently, during December and January, the Citizen Prioritization Forum will be held to discuss and prioritize valid proposals. The final vote, open to residents over 16 years old, will take place between February and March 2027, with the most supported projects being implemented until the budget is exhausted.
