The Catalan Government lifted mobility restrictions this February 12th following an extraordinary wind event that saw gusts exceeding 100 km/h across the region.

The storm caused significant disruption in the Alt Empordà region, specifically in la Jonquera, where authorities diverted traffic on the AP-7 highway due to dangerous conditions for heavy vehicles.
Emergency services reported sixty injuries caused by falling trees and debris. The 112 emergency line handled over 4,500 calls. While driving is now permitted, schools and outdoor sports facilities remain closed until the evening as a precaution.

"Preventive measures have helped reduce accidents and damage to people."
