The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 56-year-old woman in Llançà for causing a 1,200 m² forest fire in Cap Ras, in the Alt Empordà, while preparing food.

The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 56-year-old woman last Monday, August 11th, in La Jonquera, Alt Empordà. The arrest follows the determination that the woman caused a forest fire in Cap Ras, within the municipality of Llançà, which burned an area of 1,200 m².
According to authorities, the woman was camping near the affected area when she started the fire, allegedly while cooking food. Rural Agents and Mossos d'Esquadra launched a joint investigation to identify the person responsible.
The woman, who according to police sources has prior offenses, was brought before the judicial authorities after her arrest.
