Driver arrested in Navata for speeding at 233 km/h in a 90 km/h zone

The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 37-year-old man this Saturday in Navata after he was caught driving at 233 kilometers per hour on a road limited to 90.

The incident took place on the N-260 highway in the Alt Empordà region at approximately 4:45 PM. The driver nearly tripled the speed limit and executed several illegal overtakes, posing a significant risk to other motorists.
Following the violation, police officers intercepted the vehicle on the C-26 road in the municipality of Borrassà. The driver underwent testing for alcohol and drug consumption.
Police sources confirmed that both drug and alcohol tests returned negative results. Nevertheless, the individual faces charges for a crime against road safety, and his vehicle has been impounded.
