The Mossos d'Esquadra have criminally charged a 42-year-old man caught driving at 120 km/h on the N-260 road in Pedret i Marzà while heavily intoxicated on February 24th.

Traffic officers from the Girona Regional Area detected the vehicle during a routine speed trap. The car was traveling 30 km/h over the 90 km/h speed limit established for that section of the highway.
Upon stopping the driver, officers noticed clear signs of alcohol impairment. A breathalyzer test revealed a level of 1.10 mg/l, more than four times the legal limit of 0.25 mg/l.
The individual now faces criminal charges for crimes against road safety, in addition to administrative fines for speeding. He has been summoned to appear before the Figueres duty court.
