Next Saturday, June 13, the Espai Port in El Port de la Selva will host the official premiere of a new research documentary about the historic Bible of Sant Pere de Rodes.

The production, directed by Jaume Simon and promoted by Amics de Sant Esteve de Pedret, offers a journey through the origins of medieval knowledge and the historical memory linked to the Benedictine monastery. The work delves into research lines that place the monastery's origins beyond the 10th century, taking the medieval manuscript associated with the site as its central theme.
The project involved numerous collaborators, including historians, archaeologists, and early music specialists. Filming took place over eight months in iconic locations across the Empordà region, such as the Sant Pere de Rodes monastery, the Santa Maria de Ripoll monastery, and various natural sites in El Port de la Selva.

The work combines historical research, dramatized recreation, interviews with specialists, and a carefully crafted visual and musical atmosphere inspired by the spiritual universe of the High Middle Ages.

The screening, which is free to attend, was organized by the La Pedra d'Amarra association with the support of the El Port de la Selva City Council. Following the premiere, the documentary will begin a tour of presentations in Palau-saverdera, Vilajuïga, and Llançà throughout July.
