Businesswoman Eva Trias has presented her candidacy for the mayoralty of l'Escala for the 2027 municipal elections, with a project focused on proximity, transparency, and resident well-being.

Businesswoman Eva Trias has presented her candidacy for the mayoralty of l'Escala for the upcoming 2027 municipal elections, under the banner of Alternativa per l'Escala. The event, held at the El Molí restaurant, gathered over 200 people and marks a step forward for the party, which already holds two council seats in the City Council since 2023.
Trias defined her political project based on three fundamental pillars: "proximity, transparency, and coherence." She placed special emphasis on the well-being of l'Escala's residents, considering it essential and parallel to the good treatment required by tourism. The candidate stated that her political commitment has "a single focus: the people of l'Escala," and is based on "work, effort, and, above all, listening to and assisting all those who need it." The proposal is built on direct engagement with residents, aiming to be an alternative to current political dynamics.
The lead candidate advocated for an "open and accessible" city council, with absolute transparency in economic and municipal management. Trias insisted on the need for the administration to be accountable, act with honesty, and turn commitments into actions, stating that "things must be clear, simple, and understandable."
One of the key messages was prioritizing the municipality's ordinary maintenance over large-scale projects, using water quality as an example. The proposal involves avoiding "pharaonic works" and concentrating resources on cleaning, conservation, and maintenance of l'Escala, to restore the image of a "clean, tidy town with a maritime essence" that, according to Trias, has been gradually lost.
The presentation also served to reinforce the narrative of a municipalist project seeking to grow from the work done in opposition. After securing two council seats in 2023, the party aims to significantly improve its results with a more structured candidacy, an expanded team, and a well-developed political agenda. Further meetings and participation spaces are planned to gather resident proposals.
The event was hosted by Jofre Serret, first deputy mayor of Malgrat, and was attended by representatives of other nearby municipalist candidacies, such as Pere Gotanegra (Lliures de Roses), Mireia Monterde (l'Escala councilor for Alternativa), and Àngela Domènech (Lliures de Figueres). Their presence underscored the network of municipalist projects aiming to gain influence in the Empordà region.
