The Figueres City Council has announced measures to tackle coexistence issues in Víctor Català Square, where residents report systematic noise and anti-social behavior that prevents nightly rest.

The situation in the area between Nou, Pere III, Oliva, and Pujades streets was discussed during the municipal plenary session. Councilor Àngela Domènech reported that groups of youths gather until the early hours with loud music, violating local Civic Ordinances.

"Various neighbors have expressed their discomfort regarding the degradation of coexistence that occurs almost every night in this square."

In response, Mayor Jordi Masquef pledged to work with the Guàrdia Urbana (Local Police) and upgrade the square's LED lighting. The goal is to increase safety and deter disturbances through better visibility.
