The city of Figueres is set to host the grand start of the second stage of the Volta a Catalunya 2026 this Tuesday, March 24th, with a finish line located in Banyoles.

The event will begin at 11:45 AM at the Rambla for the team presentation. The official neutralized start is scheduled for 12:55 PM from the Castell de Sant Ferran climb. This year's route reverses the 2025 direction, making Figueres the starting point and Banyoles the final destination.
Spanning 167 kilometers, this mostly flat stage includes one categorized climb, the Alt del Purgatori. Cyclists will pass through La Jonquera and Peralada before crossing into the Garrotxa region. The route has been adjusted to avoid Cap de Creus, ensuring local traffic access to Cadaqués remains open.
After passing through Olot and Santa Pau, the race is expected to reach its conclusion at Passeig Mossèn Lluís Constans in Banyoles around 4:48 PM, marking the end of the third-longest stage of this year's edition.
