The Local Police and Social Services of Castelló d'Empúries Town Council located and secured a homeless person yesterday afternoon who was sleeping in an area at risk of flooding due to the severe storm (llevantada) hitting the Alt Empordà region.

The severe storm that has affected the Alt Empordà region in recent days has caused several high-risk incidents, but also highlighted the humanitarian dimension of public services. Local Police officers in Castelló d'Empúries found the person sleeping in a spot that was rapidly becoming submerged due to the intense rainfall.

"Yesterday we demonstrated once again that, when there is coordination and sensitivity, the administration can reach where it is most needed. Behind every public service, there are people caring for people."
