The operation, conducted in Castelló d'Empúries, aimed to prevent criminal and anti-social behavior, with a particular focus on individuals of police interest and repeat offenders. The 51 police officers were distributed as follows: Local Police (14), Guardia Civil (14), Mossos d'Esquadra (18), and the National Police's Immigration Group (5).
During the operation, 93 individuals and 39 vehicles were identified. Key results include the arrest of two individuals on judicial warrants and the initiation of 3 expulsion proceedings related to immigration matters.
In terms of public safety, 3 fines were issued for possession of bladed weapons, 1 for possession of a prohibited weapon, and 4 for possession of narcotic substances. Regarding road safety, 4 administrative traffic violations were processed, and 1 report was filed for a suspected road safety offense. Two drug tests and 1 breathalyzer test were also conducted.
The mayor of Castelló d'Empúries, Anna Massot, highlighted the importance of coordination among police forces: 'These types of operations demonstrate that coordination and joint efforts are fundamental tools for reinforcing security in our municipality.' She added, 'Security is a priority for the municipal government, and we will continue to strengthen the Local Police and collaboration with other security forces.'
The Local Police believes the results underscore the significance of cooperation between forces for preventing and detecting criminal behavior and infractions. These operations allow for the pooling of officers, resources, and capabilities, enabling broader and more specialized action in public safety, road safety, immigration, weapons, and narcotics.
