The decision to keep Isidre Fainé at the helm of the ”la Caixa” Banking Foundation was taken unanimously during the board meeting held this Monday. In addition to Fainé's continuity, the body also re-elected Javier Godó as Vice President.
The board agreed to renew the status of trustees for prominent figures such as José María Álvarez-Pallete, Luis Carreras, Isabel Estapé, Maria Isabel Gabarró, Eugenio Gay, Francesc Homs, and Pablo Isla. The entry of Baldiri Ros, proposed by the Institut Agrícola Català de Sant Isidre, was also formalized for a two-year period.
“"It is a true honor to continue with the project that, thanks to the independence of action granted by more than 120 years of history, redoubles efforts to serve more groups and individuals."
The validated budget, described as “historic,” amounts to 710 million euros, representing an 8.4% increase compared to the previous year's exercise in 2025. The ”la Caixa” Foundation detailed that 60% of these funds will be allocated to social transformation programs, while 20% will go to research and scholarships, and the remaining 20% to the dissemination of culture and science.
