The Club Esportiu L'Escala lost 3-1 against Europa B at Nou Sardenya in Barcelona on Sunday, January 25, a defeat marked by two penalties and two expulsions that push them out of the promotion zone.

The 'Blaugranes', led by coach David Gurillo, took the lead early in the second half thanks to an own goal by Cardelús. However, the home team's reaction was immediate and forceful, quickly turning the score around.
In just ten minutes, Europa B turned the score around with two penalty kicks. First, Anglès converted the first penalty to equalize (1-1), and shortly after, Boussid scored the second, putting the score at 2-1.

The defeat leaves the team from Empordà out of the promotion play-offs due to goal difference, a very tough consequence for the squad.

Tension escalated, culminating in the expulsion of the visiting goalkeeper, Jona, and Boussid, the local goalscorer, following an argument. Already down to ten men, Compte sealed the match with the definitive 3-1 goal. Towards the end, Sanku was also shown a red card, leaving L'Escala with nine players.
The team must recover quickly to face Manresa, a high-ranking opponent, without their starting goalkeeper and a key player due to suspension.
