The incident occurred around three in the morning while the victim was carrying out maintenance work in an area difficult to access by road. According to police sources, the man suffered an electric shock on the railway line, located between the stations of Sant Miquel de Fluvià and Camallera.
The worker's colleague, who was still breathing during the journey, transported him with the railway vehicle used for work to the Camallera station, seeking a more accessible point for emergency services.
Despite the efforts of the Mossos d'Esquadra, who used a defibrillator, and the intervention of the Bombers de la Generalitat and the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM), the man eventually died at the station.
This incident occurs just days after the collapse at the track-sinking works of line R2 in Montcada i Reixac, which caused significant disruptions to rail traffic. Line R3 also experienced a suspension due to problems with the railway traffic regulation system.
