The Mossos d'Esquadra and the Customs Surveillance Service launched a massive police operation this Tuesday in Figueres to dismantle a criminal organization involved in international drug trafficking between Catalonia and France.

The investigation is centered in Figueres, specifically around Parc Bosc and the Sant Joan neighborhood. The operation also extends to Salt and Argentona, where several house searches have been conducted since 5:30 AM.
More than 200 officers are involved, including specialized units such as the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC), BRIMO, ARRO, and the GEI tactical group. A police helicopter has been supporting the ground units since the early hours of the morning.
The goal is to decapitate the criminal group operating across the border. The case is currently under judicial secrecy, and official details regarding the number of arrests or the amount of drugs seized have not yet been released.
