Approximately 200 officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Customs Surveillance Service launched a large-scale operation this Tuesday against international drug trafficking in Figueres.

The police action began at dawn in various parts of the Alt Empordà capital, specifically around Parc Bosc and the Sant Joan neighborhood. The sound of a police helicopter marked the start of the day, coinciding with the city's preparations for the Volta a Catalunya cycling race.
While the investigation is centered in Figueres, the operation extended to other Catalan towns. Officers conducted raids in Salt (Gironès) and Argentona (Maresme) to dismantle a network operating between Catalonia and France.
The deployment includes members of the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC), public order units such as Brimo and Arro, and Citizen Security patrols. The investigation remains under judicial secrecy.
