The gathering will bring together specialists, researchers, and interested public to analyze the relevance of the German philosopher Hannah Arendt's thought, fifty years after her death.
The program will commence on Friday with an inaugural lecture by essayist and philosopher Thomas Meyer on Hannah Arendt's exile journey from Paris to New York. This will be followed by the opening of the exhibition The Dreams of Walter Benjamin, by Gemma Romero Goday.
On Saturday, various lectures will take place focusing on themes such as democracy, authoritarianism, migration, and political theory, with participation from prominent figures including Máriam Martínez-Bascuñán, Judith Butler, Agustín Serrano de Haro, and Blanca Garcés-Mascareñas. The day will also include an institutional tribute to Walter Benjamin at the Portbou cemetery and the performance of the play Caure / To Fall, by Helena Tornero.
The colloquium will conclude on Sunday with the Walter Benjamin Route, a walking itinerary between Banyuls and Portbou that will incorporate an artistic intervention linked to the XIV Artistic Creation Grant of Nau Côclea and MUME.
