The Empordà Museum hosts this Tuesday, May 26, the presentation of the fifth volume of the biographical series Benvolguts absents, published by the Figueres City Council and EMPORDÀ.

The collection, which now includes 145 biographical subjects, is establishing itself as a fundamental encyclopedia of significant figures from Figueres and the Alt Empordà, preserving the collective memory of the region.
The mayor of Figueres, Jordi Masquef, highlights in the foreword the collection's importance as a "fundamental tool for preserving and dignifying the memory of those who preceded us." Meanwhile, the director of EMPORDÀ, Marc Verdaguer, emphasizes the value of gathering "portraits in the style of Homenots" of diverse personalities.
This new installment features shared authorship by Joan Ferrerós, the project's initiator, and Josep Valls. The authors describe their style as portraying the subject "through their way of doing, speaking, dressing, eating, and interacting with others," seeking human details beyond public achievements.
Editorial coordination has been managed by Camil·la Massot, who has overseen the project since its first edition in 2002, ensuring the solidity and coherence of a locally referenced work.
