The Catalan Government expects to reopen the GI-612 highway connecting Llançà and Port de la Selva by Easter, following a major landslide in late January.

Repair works on the main coastal road in the Alt Empordà region are moving at a good pace. Government delegate Xavier Guitart informed local mayors that stabilization efforts on the damaged slope are meeting scheduled deadlines.
The road has been closed since January 20th, when heavy rains caused a significant rockfall. At the time, Firefighters had to seal off two houses located directly above the slope to ensure resident safety.
Current engineering works include installing metal mesh, rock bolts, and applying shotcrete to secure the hillside. The closure has significantly impacted daily commutes, forcing school buses and heavy vehicles to take a long detour through Roses.
