The Roses City Council and the Catalan Volleyball Federation have started planning a new Beach Sports Training and Technical Center to be located in the Mas Oliva area.

This future facility, planned behind the Municipal Swimming Pool on already expropriated land, aims to become a European benchmark. The project is supported by Olympic medalist Xavier Bosma, who has acted as a liaison between the council and sports authorities to define a space for year-round sand sports practice.

"We are very close to France and all this stimulates us to become a European reference in beach sports."

The multipurpose center will host disciplines such as beach soccer, beach handball, beach tennis, and frisbee. Councilor Miguel Ángel Muñoz confirmed positive initial contacts with the Higher Sports Council and the Spanish Football Federation. The Catalan Sports Minister, Berni Álvarez, is expected to visit the site in early summer.
