The Roses-based sculptor, born in Girona in 1949, returns to the public eye with a proposal he defines as "sixteen presences." These pieces, some exceeding two meters in height, were crafted from driftwood or discarded workshop timber, giving a second life to materials that had lost their original purpose.
“"This found wood is what commanded me, what told me what to do and how I should work."
Costa's creative process relies on listening to the material. The artist used everything from dead cypress roots to sea-eroded wood to create textures that evoke human skin. The arrangement of the works in the theater hall aims to immerse visitors in this conceptual forest.
