The team behind the fictional series Gènesi, directed by David Pujol, has faithfully recreated the interiors of El Bulli at the Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya in Terrassa, after shooting exteriors in Cala Montjoi in Roses.

Filming for the series Gènesi, a venture by 3Cat, Minoria Absoluta, and Fishcorb Media, began weeks ago with exterior scenes shot on the terraces of El Bulli and the idyllic Cala Montjoi in Roses. Currently, the production is located at the Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya in Terrassa, where the spaces that catapulted Catalan cuisine globally have been reconstructed with maximum fidelity.

"It has been a challenge on an economic, design, and artistic scale. It is turning out great."

David Pujol · Series Director
The fiction, which is scheduled to finish filming on February 20, consists of six fifty-minute episodes. It recreates the gastronomic revolution initiated by Ferran Adrià and his legacy, featuring real characters such as Albert Adrià and Juli Soler, played by actors like Miquel Fernández and Ivan Massagué. Ferran Adrià himself has provided consultation on the gastronomic aspects.

"This project is not just a series, but a commitment to the country. An alliance between culture, gastronomy, and audiovisual media that aims to explain Catalonia to the global audience."

Rosa Romà · President of 3Cat
The project was announced at the San Sebastián Festival last September. Its international reach is guaranteed thanks to the participation of Netflix, which will include it in its catalog for Spain and Latin America. The plot unfolds across two timelines: the 1980s with Adrià and Soler, and the present day featuring food critic Gloria Canabach.
