The 1-3 defeat of CE L'Hospitalet at the hands of FC L'Escala has confirmed the poor run of results for the home team. Despite a strong start where they dominated the first 25 minutes and had a clear chance, the visitors took the lead with a goal from Adrià Méndez in the 29th minute. In the second half, Expósito extended the lead from a penalty, and later completed his brace, with Buba scoring the final 1-3.
This setback keeps Hospi five points away from the top spot, a distance that was not widened thanks to the defeats of direct rivals like Badalona and Cornellà. Only Manresa managed to secure the three points, positioning themselves as co-leaders with 39 points. Frustration and anxiety were palpable among the Hospi players during the second half.
“"I know the players want me, they show me every day, but there are things I cannot allow."
The post-match press conference was dominated by the statements of coach Cristian Gómez, who expressed his doubts about his continuity. The coach explained that he wants to speak with Javier de San Nicolás to find a solution, following serious incidents in the stands where fans insulted him in front of his family.
Gómez was clear in his position, stating that he does not want the situation to affect his family. “If the current situation is my fault, I have no problem stepping aside,” he affirmed, while acknowledging the confidence of the club and 90% of the fans.
