This camera is part of the Mossos d’Esquadra's LECTIO system, a technological network deployed throughout Catalonia. The City Council has clarified that the device is not a speed camera, does not measure speed, nor does it issue fines.
Access to the data collected by the camera is exclusive to the Mossos d’Esquadra, who will use it to detect stolen vehicles or those related to ongoing investigations. The City Council has no access to any information.
The operational launch of this equipment falls under the Department of the Interior, with the relevant authorization according to current video surveillance regulations.
