The acclaimed Cia. Pagans presents several artistic proposals and night tours at the Arrels Vives Festival in Alt Empordà throughout December, focusing on active audience participation.

The Arrels Vives Festival, an initiative by the Cooperativa Somtribu based in Navata, celebrates its first edition focusing on eco-consciousness, technology, and territory. Cia. Pagans, known for its international experimentation, transforms real spaces like forests and squares into poetic and deeply immersive stages.
One of the featured works is El valor de res (The Value of Nothing), scheduled for December 19 in Ordis, at Cal Fuster (Plaça de la Llibertat), with two showings. This piece invites the audience to a “quiet coven” that reflects on plant intelligence, memory, and witch rituals. The show was a finalist at the Max Awards 2025 and the XXVI Critics' Awards for Best New Trends Show.
In Navata, on December 29, Paraules que trenquen ossos (Words that Break Bones) will be performed. This introspective experience for small groups requires the audience to use their mobile phones, reflecting on our disconnection from nature and the relevance of oral tradition in the technological age. This work previously won the Critics' Award for Best Street Show.
The program is completed on December 23, in Lladó (El Sindicat, Plaça Major), with Nadal connectat (Connected Christmas), an invitation to celebrate the present and remember the past on a winter night. Furthermore, the company will offer open work sessions for their future show, Mala herba sempre creix (Weeds Always Grow), aimed at children and teenagers on December 22 in Navata and December 28 in Ordis.
Tickets for the Arrels Vives Festival performances cost 2 euros and can be purchased via ticketing.cat or on the day of the performance.
