Municipal sources in Sabadell have confirmed that the viral video showing motorcyclists performing dangerous driving and a police withdrawal at Sant Pau de Riu-sec corresponds to two separate incidents.

The video, shared by user @circuliperladreta, caused a stir on social media as it showed two situations that internet users interpreted as consecutive: dangerous driving and a subsequent withdrawal of officers facing a crowd. The first part showed two young people without helmets or license plates performing wheelies at the large Sant Pau de Riu-sec roundabout, popularly known as the Ikea roundabout.
According to municipal sources, the reckless driving incident involving motorcyclists without lights or helmets occurred on November 30. This incident was detected by the police, and one of the motorcyclists was subsequently arrested by the Mossos d’Esquadra at Plaça del Mil·lenari.
Regarding the second part of the video, which shows a concentration of people heading towards police vehicles that eventually leave the area, the same sources state that it “probably” corresponds to a summer event, given that most people are wearing short sleeves. Although the location could not be identified with certainty, it is confirmed that these are not the same events as the reckless driving.
The controversy included criticism of the perceived “meager police action” by internet users. The Mossos d’Esquadra declined to comment, as the competent body for traffic within the urban core of Sabadell is the Policia Municipal.
