Seven slightly injured in AP-7 accident in Pont de Molins caused by a wild boar

The crash, which occurred early in the morning, involved three vehicles and forced the closure of the highway towards Girona.

Seven people sustained minor injuries early Tuesday morning in an accident involving three vehicles on the AP-7 near Pont de Molins, after a car struck a wild boar crossing the motorway.

The incident occurred shortly after 2:30 AM, at kilometer 17 of the motorway, heading south towards Girona. The accident sequence began when a car hit the animal, and two other vehicles subsequently collided with the first due to the impact.
The Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) confirmed that seven people were affected, all with minor injuries. To assist the injured, medical personnel deployed five ambulances.
Officers from the Mossos d’Esquadra Traffic Unit and the Bombers (Firefighters) also responded to the scene. The Bombers assisted the 10 occupants of the vehicles, removed the dead boar, disconnected the batteries, and cleaned the road surface.
All injured individuals were subsequently evacuated to the Hospital Josep Trueta in Girona. Following the crash, the AP-7 motorway was closed in the Girona direction while emergency services carried out their work, according to the Servei Català de Trànsit.
