Hundreds of volunteers from Civil Protection and the SOS 4x4 association have worked over the weekend in Vilanova del Vallès to clean up and restore normality following the floods.

Over the weekend, Vilanova del Vallès deployed a large volunteer effort to address the consequences of the floods. Civil Protection mobilized dozens of volunteers, with 59 personnel on Saturday, 44 on Sunday, and 37 planned for Monday, October 12th, to continue cleanup and safety tasks.
The operations focused on removing hazardous elements and improving road safety. A tree with a risk of falling was removed at the intersection of Joan Coromines and Pere Calders streets, a curve with sand accumulation was cleaned on Can Bosc street, and mud and vegetation debris were cleared at the Can Duli roundabout and along the Centenari promenade. Roadways in the Cal Pintxo industrial estate and on the Can Bosc path were also cleaned.
The SOS 4x4 association, with 25 volunteers specializing in rescues, collaborated in extracting vehicles from flooded parking lots on Sorral promenade and Verge de Núria street.
Sunday's priorities included cleaning central streets such as Palma street and Oriol Martorell street, as well as the children's play area in the Països Catalans square. Two trees were also felled at the Can Maimó ford.
Firefighters inspected the flooded garages. Access to the storage rooms at Passeig del Sorral, 25, has been prohibited due to potential structural damage. At the Verge de Núria garage, the inspection found no risks, and a container has been installed for cleanup.
The City Council is considering opening the passage at the Miravent ford to facilitate mobility, pending authorization from the Catalan Water Agency.
The City Council thanks all the teams for their work and asks citizens to respect restrictions and signage.
