The port of Roses closed the 2025 cruise season with 15 calls and 4,000 passengers, nearly triple the previous year, boosting the local and regional economy.

The cruise season at Costa Brava ports concluded with a total of 80 calls and nearly 69,000 passengers, generating an economic impact of almost 6 million euros, a 29% increase compared to last year. These figures were presented on Friday in Palamós.

"This balance represents record figures, but they cannot grow indefinitely for sustainability reasons."

Manel Nadal · Secretary General of Mobility
The most significant growth was recorded at the port of Roses, which received 15 cruise calls during 2025, bringing 4,000 passengers to the municipality. Half of these calls occurred during the low season, helping to de-seasonalize tourism.
Mayor Josep Maria Martínez defended the model adopted by the port, which focuses on hosting small cruises, compatible with the infrastructure's reduced dimensions and shallow depth. According to Martínez, the economic benefits extend to other areas, such as Figueres, Cadaqués, and Portlligat.
Regarding the origin of the cruise passengers, North Americans were the majority (34%), followed by the French (21%), Australians (8%), British (7%), Belgians (4%), Canadians (2%), Swiss (1.5%), and Germans (1%).
