The town of Roses will celebrate its emblematic 2026 Carnival from Thursday, February 12, until Monday, February 16, featuring an intense program including parades, dances, and the traditional popular rice dish.

The Roses Carnival is an event prepared months in advance, as the more than fifty participating groups (colles) work intensely on costumes, floats, and choreographies to surprise the audience. This festival is one of the most anticipated moments of the year, mobilizing the entire municipality of Alt Empordà.
The central events of the celebration will be the three major parades or “passades”: the night parade on Friday, February 13 (at 9 PM), the afternoon parade on Saturday, February 14 (at 4 PM), and the midday parade on Sunday, February 15 (at 12 PM). All will take place along Rhode avenue.
The festivities will officially kick off on Thursday, February 12, with the welcome of His Majesty King Carnestoltes and the presentation of the 2026 Carnival kings and queens. The closing event will be on Monday, February 16, with the popular rice dish at the Municipal Sports Pavilion, followed by the funeral procession, the burial of the sardine, and a fireworks display at La Perola beach.
Regarding the festival's visual identity, the 2026 Carnival poster was designed by the young artist Alma Martín Guillén, who created a pirate mermaid with manga and anime aesthetics, inspired by the icon of the Roses bay.
