The Alt Empordà region has reaffirmed its leadership in the European camping sector after six of its establishments received the main continental quality seals. These recognitions were announced Friday evening during the PiNCAMP Gala, held in Stuttgart as part of the CMT fair, one of the most relevant specialized events in Europe.
The campsites awarded the maximum five-star category are Laguna and Nàutic Almatà, located in Castelló d’Empúries, and Àmfora, Aquarius, Las Dunas, and La Ballena Alegre, all of them in Sant Pere Pescador. The distinctions come from the two reference organizations: the German ADAC (Superplatz 2026 seal) and the Dutch ANWB (Top Camping 2026 seal).
“"These distinctions demonstrate that the regions of Girona continue to be a leading camping destination in Europe. They are a very important recognition of the sector's work and highlight the high standard and excellence of Girona's campsites."
This level of excellence is exclusive: only 229 campsites across Europe have achieved the Top Camping 2026 seal. In Catalonia, 13 establishments have been recognized, while across the entire Spanish State the figure rises to 16. The impact of these recognitions is crucial, as ADAC has over 22 million associated families and ANWB has 4.9 million users in the Netherlands.
