Solidarity, wine, and gastronomy came together at the Empordàlia winery in Vilajuïga for a pairing organized in favor of the We Love Uganda association. Tickets sold out in just two days, and the proceeds will go entirely to the entity's educational scholarships, which work to offer a better future for vulnerable children in Uganda.
“"It has been an evening with music, wine, and cheese for a very important cause. It is a very beautiful project to help the most vulnerable children that must be supported."
Master sommelier Toni Gerez, recognized with a Michelin Star for dining service in 2023, led the experience, emphasizing the quality of local and proximity products. Attendees tasted a selection of cheeses, including one awarded as the best in the world in 2021, accompanied by Empordàlia wines, highlighting Grenaches and Moscatels.
This is the third solidarity pairing that Gerez has offered for the benefit of We Love Uganda, strengthening the invisible bridge between the Empordà and Africa. The event also featured live music by Robert Molina, who performed a piece in Ukrainian, recalling the importance of solidarity beyond borders.
The manager of Empordàlia, Simon Casanovas, highlighted that the leading cooperative winery in the Alt Empordà reinforces its commitment to responsible wine tourism, actively participating in social projects in the territory for three years.
